Research Consortium

What is the Medco Research Consortium?

The Medco Research Consortium (MRC) is a network of Medco clients who are interested in learning about opportunities for participation in studies and programs being managed by the Medco Research Institute® (MRI).

Through the Consortium, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about participating in our upcoming research studies, pilots, and healthcare survey programs. As a member of the MRC, you’ll receive information on topics related to the research and scientific community, and you’ll have an avenue by which to express your opinion on research topics being pursued.

Consortium Member Benefits

As a member of the Medco Research Consortium, you will receive:

  • Electronic newsletters focusing on research efforts in specific chronic therapeutic areas (e.g., diabetes, neuropsychiatry and cardiovascular disease)
  • Invitations to participate in the Medco Research Consortium Distinguished Lecture Series via webinar, as well as to attend live educational seminars
  • Consolidated and streamlined notice of new research opportunities as they become available

Why should I participate in the MRC?

By joining the Consortium, you can easily stay current on the latest clinical breakthroughs in disease treatments and informed of opportunities to participate in MRI research that can lead to improved patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs. Much of our research is focused on post-marketing studies designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of medications, as well as pharmacogenomic studies and quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, Medco clients have the opportunity to be exposed to innovative and cutting-edge research that may directly apply to their member population.

How Do I Join the MRC?

To join the Medco Research Consortium and to learn more about our current research program opportunities, simply e-mail us at mrc@medco.com or contact MRI Client Relations at 1 301 771-2629.

Once you are part of the Medco Research Consortium, you will receive periodic announcements about program participation opportunities.

Current research enrollment opportunities are also listed within each Research Area section of the site.

Should I choose to enroll in MRI Research, how will my members be contacted?

Your members will not be notified of any MRI-sponsored study without your prior approval. Upon your approval, prequalified candidates will be invited to participate, typically through a letter mailed to their home or a telephone call. Individuals who would like to obtain more information about potential study participation will be instructed either to call a toll-free number or visit the study website. All MRI studies will receive any necessary Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals.
